The Tarangire National Park spans an area of 2,850 square kilometers, making it the 6th largest National Park, in Tanzania. It is situated in Northern area of the country, just southeast of Lake Manyara. Which is about a 2 hour drive from Arusha. It is named after the Tarangire River, which runs through the park and is the main water source. 

Tarangire National park is composed of Acacia woodlands, savannah grasslands, dotted with huge baobab trees and is teeming with wildlife. Large herds of elephant traverse through the park as well as giraffe, zebra, water buffalo and impala. Keep your eyes open as you make your way through the park for all things hoofed, winged and clawed.
