LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

 Lake Manyara National Park, is a bird watchers paradise.  Lying about two and a half hours drive southwest of Arusha. It encompasses 325 km² (125 sq. mi.), most of which is composed of a large alkaline lake.  It is a crucial habitat of hundreds of bird species, especially pink flamingos, thousands of which can be seen along the shoreline.

But, Lake Manyara National Park is not just for bird lovers,  it is also home to the famous tree climbing lions.  Look up in the trees and see if you can spot the lionesses catching a nap in the shade, escaping the midday sun, resting up for their nightly hunt.
